The most recent theories surrounding the Shroud of Turin believe that the image was created due to what could only be explained as something akin to a burst of "exceptional radiation." Interesting. And I think Rembrandt does a decent job here of providing a glimpse of what that might have been like. (Wikipedia info) |
An excerpt from the Paschal Homily of St. John Chrysostom (again, Wikipedia). I think it's lovely.
- O Hades, where is thy victory?
- Christ is risen, and the demons are fallen!
- Christ is risen, and the angels rejoice!
- Christ is risen, and life reigns!
- Christ is risen, and not one dead remains in a tomb!
- Christ is risen, and life reigns!
- Christ is risen, and the angels rejoice!
- To Him be glory and might unto the ages of ages.
- Amen.
I hope you are all having a wonderful Easter Sunday, and continue to have a wonderful Easter season.
Alleluia! Have a happy Dyngus Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am sick, but the kids had a blast this morning.
DeleteDo you mean snow blast or water blast?
ReplyDeleteGoodness, who knows anymore. More snow coming tonight! At this point I am holding fast to the knowledge that it will someday be Spring. Maybe not any time soon, but it will happen, if history is right. ;)
DeleteOoh, love that Paschal Homily excerpt. So great.
ReplyDeleteIt is good. Actually the whole thing is quite amazing but it's too long for this place. I just skipped to the end. :)
