Happy Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe!
Now, for serious. You cannot encapsulate everything that is the Mexican culture in one blog post. I'm not even going to try. I am really going to miss these days where the culture and the faith of the Mexican people really shine. It has been a part of my life since I can remember. I want my kids to grow up remembering the same things.
I guess I'll just have to do whatever I can to represent the *entire* country, all by myself, within our own little circle of friends and family over there in the Central/Eastern quadrant of the European Continent.

| The night my parents were married, 1978, they came directly from their wedding reception to this restaurant to eat dinner. 30+ years later, it still serves the best Mexican food in the world.
P.S. I am totally researching the cost of sending tamales in dry ice to Krakow. You think I'm joking? Think again.

You and I can agree on this one! In Peru they really have a distaste for Mexican food (only because Peruvian cuisine is one of the best in the world, see next post), but they do have similar things like tamales, empenadas, and at least a few other things that are vaguely mexican. But no chips, no queso, and no tacos, for sure. OH, and I have traveled from Europe to the US with frozen dairy before (mozarella di buffalo) and it arrived in the us after many hours, in tip top shape. There is hope yet!
ReplyDeleteAbout 10 years ago - there was a mexican restaurant i Krakow...I do not remember a name - but this palce was about 2 bloks away from the Main Square.I'm thinking about Grodzka street.
ReplyDeleteI checked on the google - now there is about 5 new mex places in Krakow....You should be fine.
ReplyDeleteYes, you can get "Mexican" food in Krakow... I have yet to find a place that does a good job, but there is hope since I haven't been to all 5 restaurants. We'll see!
